Jijenge Welcomes Single Business Permit for Nairobi

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Monday unveiled the electronic Unified Business Permit (UBP) to ease doing business and collection of revenue.

UBP combines the business, fire, food, health, and advertising licenses into one and will be accessed online via the county’s NairobiPay Revenue service.

Governor Sakaja terms the move as part of his campaign promises saying it will bolster service delivery and streamline the process of acquiring permits by entrepreneurs.

Reacting on this Jijenge Credit Limited Founder and Managing Director Peter Macharia Kamau noted:

“This is an excellent initiative that will definitely ease and boost the ease of doing business in Nairobi. Can call it a “one stop shop for licenses “ and technology is the way to go because there is less human interaction with cash which reduces corruption and increases efficiency to both the tax payer and Nairobi county. Kudos to our super governor.”
